A 'behind the scenes' creative music producer, Jan is a mentor for the prestigious Ivors Academy and an award-winning writer of music for Film and TV. She has written songs for legendary singers Cyndi Lauper, Darlene Love, Steps, Eurovision, Felicia Collins, and jazz great Chico Freeman. Her early library music catalogue is available from Universal Music Group and newer works can be synced directly from the studio.

"The past is a path to the future"

During her long career Jan has played keyboards for the Thompson Twins, toured the world with Cyndi Lauper, ran her own production company in the USA and has never stopped breaking the barrier for women in music technology. She has engineered, programmed, and produced music for over 100 albums including Cyndi Lauper’s iconic ’Sisters of Avalon’ album and was an early beta tester for internet collaboration with the Rocket Network and Logic Audio.
Living in East Anglia for the past 11 years Jan continues mixing art and music with live performance. Her ambient music world streams daily on Radio Mothership, an indie station she runs for the local music community in Woodbridge, birthplace of the father of ambient music, Brian Eno.
She has provided music for gallery installations in London with sculptor David Begbie, Nashville with Digital artist David Turner and Virtual Worlds in San Francisco, becoming an early pioneer of performing music in the virtual metaverse. In 2018 she lit up Woodbridge’s iconic Tidemill with projections and live music, as co-producer of the Beowulf Festival. She produced the Arts Council sponsored Spirit of Place series spread out over 2021 to celebrate the return of LIVE music and to lift people's spirits after the lockdown.
In December she will once again be lighting up the Tidemill with a 3D show featuring local music, including a new work 'Duet for Piano and Tidemill' A great way to end the Spirit of Place series and launch into another year - 2022!
